Labradorite is a rare gemstone sometimes called the "magical" or "spiritual" stone. One of the theories explains that it gets its name from the Greek word labradore, which means " lamentation ." The indigenous people of Labrador where these stones were found believed that if a child wore a labradorite, he would be protected from evil spirits and could see them. They also thought that it brought prosperity and good luck.
